Dear Children in Christ,

We are living in a modern instant world. Though the world we live in is fast changing, our God is an unchanging God. In the times we live in, most people look upon famous people as their role model in life. But, our true role model is our Lord Jesus Christ and because He was victorious in this world, we can be victorious if we have Him by our side and let Him live in us.

Today, let us look at someone who was victorious in temptations through the strength of the Lord. He is Joseph who was of the generations of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He was born to Rachel and Jacob. Since Joseph was born to Jacob when he was old, Jacob loved Joseph more than his other sons. Jacob even made him a coat of multi-colours for Joseph. Joseph was a man of dreams, and God revealed the future to Joseph through dreams. Jacob kept all the dreams of Joseph in his heart but his brothers were envious. Joseph was a man whom God had chosen to save the lives of many in the future.

Joseph lived a life of Holiness by seeking God just as how his forefathers sought after God and lived a Holy life. Joseph would even bring to the knowledge of Jacob his father about the mistakes his brothers made behind their father.

Joseph was only seventeen years of age when his father sent him just to see if his brothers and the cattle were all safe. When Joseph met his brothers in the field, his own brothers tried to kill Joseph and at first they put him in a deep pit and later they sold Joseph to the Ishmalites and the Ishmalites sold him Potiphar a servant of pharoh. The bible says in Genesis 39:2

“and the LORD was with Joseph”

Joseph did not yield to sin, when he was forced by his master’s wife to sin with her. Even though Joseph ran away from her, she falsely accused Joseph and shut him in prison. A seventeen year old youngster spent thirteen years in prison. Nevertheless, God was always with Joseph and He never left him. Just like this, this world can become our enemies, people can mock us, hate us and speak false things about us, but God will never leave us. As God’s children, when we choose to do this will, Joseph later on interpreted the dream of Pharoh and because of God’s love, grace and mercy, Joseph became the ruler of the nation of Egypt at a young age when he was just thirty.

The lesson that we learn from Joseph’s life is that we have problems in this world. But when we have the victorious Lord Jesus in us, we too can win our troubles, sorrows and our difficulties.

The bible says that “to the fear the Lord is to run away from evil”. Joseph feared God and ran away from evil and in the right time, God honoured Joseph. The God who protected Joseph to live Holy thousands of years back will protect us today to live a holy life.

In your young age, ask the Lord to be with you just as He was with Joseph to lead you and to be with you always. Through sin, the devil can easily get you out of the plan of God, so, Please ask God to give you the strength to overcome the devil by living a holy life and to fulfill your destiny that God has for you.

It is important that your life should be moulded by God right from this very young age. If not, the stealer the devil will steal the will that God has for us from our lives. But when the Lord JESUS is with you the devil will run away from you.

“When God is with us, who can be against us?”
